Abstract

Abstract Reactions of π-allylpalladium compounds with the 1, 3-dipolar species, benzonitrilioanilide and benzonitrile N-oxide, give low yields of five-membered ring heterocyclic compounds. It is proposed that the π-allylpalladium compounds decompose to give allylic halides which then react with the dipolar species to give heterocyclic products.
