Abstract

The novel farnesyl diphosphate (FPP) analog 13-methylidenefarnesyl diphosphate (3-VFPP, 4) was designed as a potential mechanism-based inhibitor of the FPP-utilizing enzyme protein-farnesyl transferase (PFTase).
