Abstract

CH3 out the dehydration by the Darzens procedure, a method demonstrated to retain structural integrity. I0 This method was successful and the desired bismethylsqualene (VI) was obtained as a pale yellow oil, bp 201-203'(0.05 mm.), YZ*~ D 1.4950.
