Abstract

The four possible dibromobenzofurazan oxides were synthesized and compared with these two products. The synthesis of IIa, IIb, and IIc was accomplished by ring closure in refluxing toluene of the corresponding azidodibronionitrobenzenes (IIIa, IIIb, and IIIc) which were prepared by diazotization3 of the corresponding dibromo-o-nitroanilines and treatment of the diazonium salts with sodium azide. 5, 6-Dibromobenzofuraza11 oxide was prepared ...
