Abstract

LETTRE and FERNHOLZ(Bey., 1940, 73, 436) have described the preparation of a number of lipoid-soluble derivatives of alloxazine and have tested them for carcinogenic activity. No such action was found during the period of their experiments, which they admitted were of a preliminary nature. They did, however, claim that one of their flavin derivatives-9-n-butyl-5: 6- benzisoalloxazine-had a specific damaging effect on cancer cells in vitvo. Haddow ( ...
