Abstract

Ethyl 0-arylsulfonylhydroxamates (Sa-c), prepared from the readily accessible ethyl hydroxamate (4) 5 and arylsulfonyl chloride, were treated with 70y0 perchloric acid at 0" for 10 min. The reaction mixture was poured into ice water to give crystalline O- arylsulfonylhydroxylamines (3a-c) in high yields.
