Abstract

The synthesis of tetrahydroisoquinolines and tetrahydro-β-carbolines, using the Pictet– Spengler reaction, was carried out in the presence of a catalytic amount of o- benzenedisulfonimide, which worked as a Brønsted acid organocatalyst.
