Abstract

Abstract A cobalt-catalyzed reductive coupling of terminal alkynes, RC [TRIPLE BOND] CH, with activated alkenes, R′ CH [DOUBLE BOND] CH 2, in the presence of zinc and water to give functionalized trans-disubstituted alkenes, RCH [DOUBLE BOND] CHCH 2 CH 2 R′, is described.
