Abstract
Thiolysis of 1,2-epoxides represents an effective and convenient entry to β-hydroxy sulfides, an important class of intermediates for constructing both synthetic pharmaceuticals 1 and naturally occurring substances. 2 Tremendous research efforts have been devoted to this useful transformation.
