Abstract

THE structure of totaroll (I) was elucidated by Short and his~ o-workers,~ J mainly by dehydrogenation of totarol and its derivatives and has been confirmed by total~ ynthesis.~ By milder dehydrogenation, Short and Wang obtained three products (11, 1x1, and IV) from
