Abstract

A number of derivatives of benzo [b] thiophene related to serotonin and gramine have been prepared and tested for pharmacological activity on a variety of smooth muscle preparations and on intact animals. Antihistamine, antiacetylcholine, antiserotonin, and in some cases spasmogenic properties have been demonstrated.
