Abstract: A mild and efficient generation of o-quinodimethane intermediates, in which fluoride anion is simply added to [e [a-(trimethylsilyl) alky1] benzyl] trimethylammonium halides at rmm temperature, and their inter-and intramolecular Diels-Alder reactions leading to polycycles are described in detail.
