Abstract

A type of capto-dative olefin, dicyanoketene acetal such as dicyanoketene dimethyl acetal and ethylene acetal is introduced to be a novel type of π-acid catalyst for the monothioacetalization of acetals as well as the corresponding α, β-unsaturated systems.
