Abstract

Columbinic acid (5 (E), 9 (Z), 12 (2)-octadecatrienoic acid, also known as A5-trans-linoleic acid or ranunucleic acid'), has been shown to have interesting effects on essential fatty acid deficient rats2 and is therefore theorized to have an unusual metabolic fate compared to other polyunsaturated fatty acids.
