Abstract

Results When base is added to an aqueous solution of the yellowcolored parent ethers 3 and 6, there is an immediate sippearance of colorless species with absorption spectra showing maxima at 330 and 339 nm, respectively. Similar spectra are obtained in MezSO solution, showing that the same species form in both solvents.
