Abstract
Conclusion Additional factors that influence sulfurane stability have been found. An increase in the electronegativity of the apical ligands is reflected in an increase in the stability of sulfuranes. Hydrolyses of spirosulfuranes are slowed by the presence of gem-dialkyl groups on the carbon a to the apical atoms, and sulfurane stability is enhanced by this structural feature.
