Abstract
A recently discovered and structurally distinct class of antiepileptic drugs is the (arylalky1) imidazoles. Two independently discovered representatives of this class, denzimol ((~-[4-(2- phenylethyl) pheny1]-1H-imidazole-l-ethanol) and nafimidone (24 1H-imidazol-l-yl)-l-(2- naphthalenyl) ethanone), are undergoing clinical evaluation.
