Isoprene reacts with aldehydes in the presence of a catalytic amount of P ~ ( OAC ) ~ ~ PP ~ ~ ... Allylic alcohols and esters can be applied to palladium- catalysed carbonyl allylation with SnC12, in which the forma- tion of a n-allylpalladium complex followed by that of an allylic tin compound are the key steps.'
