Abstract

Compounds related to ascaridole (I) but lacking the peroxide group were desired. The dehydrocineoles (11-VII) are so related. Derivatives of these and of the related cineoles and menthadienes shoitld be accessible through application of the reactions studied by Diels and Alder'to the isopropylmethylfurans.
