Abstract

The ethyl esters of 1-alkyl-substituted 2-oxo-4-hydroxyquinoline-3-carboxylic acids are of interest as a starting point in the synthesis of compounds with high levels of activity as antithyroid preparations [2, 3], local anesthetics [4], anti- inflammatory agents [5-7], antimicrobial preparations [8], and other types of pharmaceuticals.
