Abstract
A variety of 1.4-diynes react with dibutyltin hydride to give predominately 2-alkyl-l, l-dibutyl-1, 4-dihydrostan-nabenzenes. These may be readily Converted to 2-alkylarsabenzenes by treatment with arsenic trichloride. In this manner, 6-acetoxy-1, 4-hexadiyne has been converted to 2-arsabenzyl acetate and hence to a number of 2-functionalized arsabenzenes.
