Abstract

In glacial acetic acid, N-chlorosuccinimide can be used for nuclear substitution of uracil, thymine and derivatives of 2-thiouracil, and in chloroform plus benzoyl peroxide this sam~ reagent can be used for substitution of an allylic methyl side chain.
