Abstract

Method Ba a (a) DMF/reflux;(b) N-methylmorpholinelisobutyl chloroformate/THF/-10-25 OC. phenol is first converted to its sodium salt (NaH, DMF) and then reacted with 2- chloronicotinic acid at elevated temperature to afford the alkoxy nicotinic acid derivative in modest yield (ca. 2040%).
