Abstract
The completely orthogonally protected aspartic acid derivative FmocAsp (OBn) OtBu is readily synthesized on a large scale. Deprotection of the β-carboxylic acid allows coupling to various sugar derivatives via free hydroxyl groups to produce novel glycosyl amino acids.
