Abstract

We wish to demonstrate that singlet-excited-state naphthols' q2 and anthrols can induce decomposition of N-nitrosodimethylamine (NND) by dual proton and energy-transfer processes occurring from an exciplex within the lifetimes of these phenol-phenolate couples.
