Abstract

The reaction of/3, P'-irninodipropionitrile with cyclic anhydrides gives the corresponding N, N- bis-(2-cyanoethyl)-carboxamic acids (I) in good yield. The only amic acids of this type previously reported are the derivatives of phthalic1 and succinic anhydrides2; the latter by name alone. Esters of N, N-bis-(2-cyanoethyl)-carboxamic acids are hitherto unreported. Several alkyl N, N-bis-(2-cyanoethyl)-carboxarnates (11) are useful as plasticizers for vinyl ...
