Abstract
The antiepileptic drugs widely used in clinical practice, such as diphenin, phenobarbital, and benzonal, belong to the cyclic derivatives of urea [1]. Opening of the hydantoin ring between carbon in position 5 and nitrogen leads to a noncyclic urea derivative (a-diphenylacetylurea, known as the drug fenuron) still retaining the anticonvulsant properties [2].
