Abstract
Although the addition of organic sulfur compounds to P-nitrostyrene and its derivatives has not been extensively investigated, addition products have been obtained from P-nitroolefins and aromatic amines, hydrazines, and other organic base^.^^^^^ Similarly, alcohols add to/?- nitrostyrene forming the corresponding P-nitro ether^,^!^ and Kohler and Stone8 apparently obtained 1, 4-addition products exclusively from the reaction of Grignard reagents with ...
