Abstract

A series of compounds1 made by the action of oxalyl chloride2 on derivatives of acetamide has been reported. The assignment of the pyrrolidinetrione (I) structure3 was accepted and no structural evidence was given beyond the infrared absorption studies which seemed to substantiate the structure previously assigned.
