Abstract
Experimental Sectiong Preparation of 1, 4, 5, 6-Tetrachloro-7, 7-dimethoxy-exo-2-met hylbicyclo [2.2. lIhept-5-ene-endo-2-carboxamide (1). A mixture of 21.0 g (79.6 mmol) of tetrachloro-5, 5-dimethoxycyclopentadiene and 13.8 g (159 mmol) of methacrylamide in 80 mL of absolute EtOH was refluxed for 3 days. Some EtOH was distilled off and the residue was poured into 400 mL of 1: l water-hexane and shaken. The resulting solid was filtered, ...
