Abstract
1-Iodoalk- 1 -ynes are useful synthetic intermediates,' they may also have fungicidal2 and antimicrobial3 activity. Although several routes to this type of compound are known ,4-7 the more usual preparative methods involve iodination of metal acetylides RCzCM (M = Li, Na, Mg, Hg, Cu, or Ag) preformed from alk-1-ynes.
