Abstract

Summary The di-2-cyclohexene-1-y1 ethers of diethylstilbestrol and hexestrol have been prepared by two methods. Application of the Claisen rearrangement to these compounds produced the corresponding 3, 3'-disubstituted derivatives. Use of benzoic anhydride in the rearrangement of the ethers increased the yield considerably.
