Abstract

Results Cyclic Ketones.-Treatment of 2-cyclohexenone with copper (I1) chloride under the usual conditions for chlorination for four hours led to phenol in 65% yield. No organic product other than phenol could be observed when a shorter reaction time mas used (equation 1).
