Abstract

Previous papers published from this Laboratory on the effect of structure of organic chlorides on their rate of reaction with potassium iodide in absolute acetone solution have included the effect df the phenoxyl and methylthio groups, and it seemed of interest to determine hoi\ T these rates would be affected by substituting an a-and P-naphthoxyl group for a phenoxyl, and a phenylthio group for a methylthio group.
