Abstract
Several synthetic techniques for metal-free phthalocyanines (Pc) and d-and f-metal phthalocyaninates (“PcM”) starting from different precursors (phthalonitrile, urea and phthalic anhydride, phthalimide, phthalic acid, etc.) are reviewed.
