Abstract

Abstract Vinylmercurials react readily with allylic halides, lithium chloride and palladium chloride in tetrahydrofuran to give 1, 4-dienes. Some reactions proceed well using only catalytic amounts of palladium chloride while others require stoichiometric amounts.
