Abstract

In 1939, Tchoubar and Sackur'reported the base-catalyzed rearrangement of a- chlorocyclohexyl phenyl ketone to l-phenyl-cyclohexanecar-boxylic acid. Later Stevens and Farkas2 investigated the conditions for this reaction and were able to modify the procedure to secure higher yields of the acid.
