Abstract
568 FINNEQAN AND HENRY VOL. 30 chloride. The decomposition of l-benzyl-2-guanyl- lnitrosohydrazine (11) in concentxat'ed hydrochloric acid at ambient temperature for 2-4 hr. or at steambat'h temperature for a few minutes (until the exothermic reaction subsided) led to the formation of benzyl chloride, ammonium chloride, and carbamyl azide in good yields.
