Abstract
The higher boiling fractions from the less basic reaction contained large amounts of iodo compounds. These fractions had medium double bond and very strong hydroxyl bands in the infrared, but attempts to prepare crystalline alcohol derivatives were unsuccessful. Since Bigot assigned the structure of" P-epiiodohydrin" by analogy with" P-epichlorohydrin," the 2- iodotrimethylene oxide (3-iodocyclooxabutane) structure is in doubt. In the more basic ...
