Abstract Treatment of (C 5 Me 5) RuBr 2 (η 3-CH 2 C (R) CH 2)[R H (1a), Me (1b) with BrMg (CH 2) 4 MgBr in ether afforded the Ru II-alkyl-butadiene complexes,(C 5 Me 5) Ru (η 4-C 4 H 6)(η 1-CH 2 CHRCH 3)[R H (2a), Me (2b)].
