Abstract

7, R= Ph gross structure of 5 are supported by lH NMR spectra which show a sharp singlet methylene absorption at ca. 6 4.8-4.9. Alternate regioisomer 6 which would result from the alternate mode of cycloaddition was not detected in any of the adducts. The assignments of the spirotriazolines as 5 rather than as its regioisomer 6 were based on the observation that the reaction of spirotriazolines with acid catalyst gave the ring-enlargement products, 9-( ...
