Abstract

Abstract An improved Pfitzinger condensation reaction performed under acidic conditions is established. It provides a simple and efficient synthetic method for some useful quinoline-4- carboxylic acid derivatives using isatins and ketones that cannot be obtained easily under ordinary conditions.
