Abstract
Ruthenium carbonyl acetato complexes containing bipyridines or phenantrolines ligands are tested as catalysts in the hydroformylation of hex-1-ene in homogeneous phase. These catalysts are active also in solutions containing water and the selectivity to aldehyde is high. Only a moderate hydrogenation of the alkene occurs.
