Abstract
C6-Alkylthio-substituted purines have potential therapeutic applications such as in anticancer, antibacterial, and antiviral agents. For example, 4-nitrobenzylthioinosine (NBTI), which has been extensively studied in recent years, is a wellknown inhibitor for the equilibrative nucleoside transport protein ENT1(Figure 1).[1]
