Abstract
The method of obtaining the orthoaminobenzonitrile published by Bogert and Hand1 having given such satisfactory results in every respect, it seemed probable the meta compound could be as readily prepared by the same method. It was thought the amino group would prove to be as reactive as that in metanitraniline and by entering into the usual aniline reactions would yield a series of nitriles which apparently have not as yet been prepared, ...
