Abstract

Irradiation of a wide band gap semiconductor (SC) promotes one electron from the valence band (VB) to the conduction band (CB). The excited state of the SC can be expressed aa SC (e-, h+). l The electron in the conduction band is readily available for transference while the electron hole in the valence band is open for donationa2 A reactant that receives the electron from SC would be reduced, while a reactant that donatee an electron to SC would ...
