Abstract: This paper describes the mechanistic investigation of a-chymotrypsin and [Met, 9z- sulfoxide]-a-chymotrypsin-catalyzed peptide synthesis in a kinetically controlled process (Le., aminolysis) and the relative stabilities of both enzymes in different conditions.
