Abstract

Abstract Arylsulfinic acids undergo smooth conjugate addition to p-quinones in air-and moisture-stable second generation room temperature ionic liquid [bmim] BF 4 under mild conditions to produce the corresponding arylsulfonylhydroquinones in excellent yields with high selectivity.
