Abstract
Treatment of 4 with Acetic Acid.-To 4 (2 g) in 100 ml of water was added acetic acid (4.5 ml). The reaction mixture was allowed to stand for 1 hr at room temperature. The crude product was collected and recrystallized from pyridine-water to give yellow prisms, yield 1.2 g (72%). Anal. Calcd for CIHZN&: C, 27.60; H, 1.15; N, 16.10; S, 55.50; mol wt, 174.
