Abstract

I1 was therefore prepared by the cohydrolysis of dimethylchloromethylchlorosilane and trimethylchlorosilane.'111 was prepared by the hydrolysis of dimethyldichlorometliylchlorosiIane. The isolation of a considerable yield of the intermediate silanol indicates a stabilizing influence of the substituent chlorine atoms on this compound.
